You can not help but notice that all over the country there is an increasing trend towards the construction of steel buildings for commercial use. These buildings have mostly pre-engineered components of structures which need to be installed at the construction site. This is a fast and economic way of putting up a number of structures in quickest time. Pre-engineered metal buildings are much suitable for completing housing facilities for large engineering projects or industrial complexes. From cost point of view, these buildings work out cheaper. Normally such projects are time bound, which demand moving men and materials within calculated number of days to stay work. Executors of projects do not have sufficient time to construct conventional brick and mortar structures. People moved from other places require be properly sheltered in least number of days to stay main project activities. With a pre-engineered building, only ready to install metal roll up door is practical accessory which is convenient to use and it merges well with the structure.

These metal buildings have several inherited advantages. The first consideration for opting for pre-engineered construction is speed of construction since no time is required for curing or setting. These structures can be put up even in remote locations having no electricity since welding is not involved. The components are bolted and / or rifted. A reverse advantage of it is easy dismanting of the structures and shifting to other locations. Metal used for such construction is recyclable as such it offers a resale value. No use of wooden members indicating supporting environment friendly construction due to conservation of wood. Low insurance cost is an added advantage since there is least risk of fire.

Besides the cost factor, such metal structures need certain other aspects to be kept in mind. A prominent example is the need of insulation. Metals are good conductors of heat. This character of metals is incompatible with conventional brick and mortar. In none of the extremes, hot or cold weather conditions, such structures are inhabitable. Therefore, providing insulation to metal structures become inseparable. Insulating such metal constructions may not come cheap. Further, variety of insulating materials available with individual merits and demerits, influence the price. Labor charges of installing insulation materials are an additional expenditure.

There are many suppliers of metal buildings. Prices vary from company to company depending upon quality of components. Generally thin gauge of structural members cost less. However, thin metal members are sold unpainted. Painting with recommended Siliconized Polyester paint is an additional expenditure involved with unpainted materials.

Some other price influencing considerations are also involved. It is quite possible that a supplier does not offer a complete package including price of insulating materials. Also, it is possible that the quoted price of metal components is not inclusive of cost of carrying to the site. Cost of carrying the materials may work out quite expensive, particularly if the construction site is far away or located in remote areas. In such cases a constructor has to consider the cost of carrying. Here, before comparing the prices offered by different suppliers all of these aspects should be taken into consideration.
